PICs – Wasn’t that a [garden] party!

Pleasantview Lodge held its annual garden party July 18 on the south lawn. About 100 people enjoyed songs by Keith Parke, readings from former High Prairie United Church Minister Sharon McRann, a fashion show and dances from two Repertoire Dance Society members. Glamour and Gear provided most of the clothing for the show. A lunch with refreshments concluded a perfect afternoon.

Keith Parke sings to the audience as Pleasantview Lodge activity co-ordinator Norma Deuchar holds the mike. Parke is a regular performer.
Two dancers from the Repertoire Dance Society performed to the delight of the audience. Above, Kelly Cox dances a solo.
A large crowd of Pleasantview resident, staff and guests attended the garden party. A chamber of commerce day – warm and sunny – greeted everyone but the shade of the trees was very appreciated. Cool drinks to quench everyone’s thirst also helped.
A very happy Pleasantview resident Ila Sawchyn danced her way around the lawn.
Pleasantview resident Dorothy Willsey is the height of fashion sense in her outfit.
Pleasantview resident Pauline Kushner chose a colourful outfit, yet practical for the hot day.
Erin Thunder performed two dances at the party. Thunder has danced for five years. The stunning jingle dress she wore was made by her aunt.
Pleasantview resident Robert Goulet was the lone male to pose solo during the show.
The lodge’s activity co-ordinator assistant Hayley Auger throughly enjoyed modeling.
Pleasantview manager Linda Peterson was a good sport and part of the fashion show.
Robert Olanski, left, attended the garden party and modeled with his mother, Anne Olanski, during the fashion show.
