Students at High Prairie Elementary School raised over $6,000 during a Spell-a-Thon May 19. Spell-a-Thons focus more on the fundraising than a spelling bee, which is a competition. Spell-a-Thons are a much less competitive way for students to increase their vocabulary, and show off skills. Students wrote the tests and were marked for accuracy. In the three photos below are students who scored perfect. Students had the option of getting pledges for each correctly spelled word, or a flat donation. Money raised is for school activities.
