PICs – Festival of Trees hailed as big success

Two little girls enjoyed the scavenger hunt portion of the Festival of Trees, not to mention the beautiful decorations on the tree.

High Prairie’s Festival of Trees 2019 is being hailed as a huge success with an estimated 400 people attending the open house festivities. Community members, patients, staff, volunteers and J.B. Wood residents mingled together admiring the trees and decorations while enjoying cake and hot chocolate provided by Freson Bros. and A&W. Both evenings, visitors were treated to the sounds of the season by the High Prairie Community Christmas Choir and The High Prairie and District Community Band. And, as always, Santa flew in special from the North Pole to say hello and ask the children what they wanted for Christmas. A good time was had by all that attended. The Festival of Trees Committee is a non-profit volunteer group focused on providing Christmas spirit to those who are unable to leave the hospital or J.B. Wood due to disabilities or health concerns. It is our belief that everyone deserves to have the opportunity to participate in holiday cheer if they so choose.
