Hello folks, thanks for reading my report from Joussard School. We continue to be very busy around here, learning lots so that we’re ready for next year’s grade.

In kindergarten, the students were so excited to visit the local fire station. It was lots of fun and they learned so much about being safe with fire and what is involved in a firefighter’s job.

The Grade 1 students also got to visit the fire station. They loved meeting Sparky the Fire Dog, who helped them learn all about safety.

In Grade 2, our students have been making plasticine art. This takes lots of time and effort but makes beautiful pictures.

Grade 3 students are exercising their creativity as they design and build kites. They are also learning lots about insect life as they watch their caterpillars as go through the changes involved in becoming butterflies.

In Grade 4, our students have been making buildings and elevators in science. They are pretty good engineers as they have developed some elevators that can stop at different floors of their buildings.

Grade 5 students are behind their teacher, Spencer Smith 100 per cent as he was challenged by Kevin Lott, our kindergarten teacher, to a ‘skip off’ during Jump Rope for Heart. Both teachers are pretty confident that they can win. We’ll see!

In Grade 6, our students are getting very excited about their big city trip on Monday. They will be visiting the Alberta Legislature, the Telus World of Science and a trampoline place, to name but a few of their stops. We expect that they will have a wonderful time.

Thanks for reading my reports this month. We will have a new reporter next month.

Visiting the fire station is even more special for kindergarten student Ricky Bambrick, left, as he gets to see his father, firefighter Kaber Koski.
