Turcotte siblings win High Prairie Open

Two siblings were the top winners at the 48th High Prairie Open golf tournament at High Prairie and District Golf Course on Aug. 19-20.

Konrad Turcotte of Falher won the men’s championship with a score of 152.

Kennedy Turcotte won the ladies’ championship with a score of 159.

“We had 70 golfers, 53 men and 17 ladies,” says co-ordinator Dylan Barrons.

Last year, the tournament drew 76 golfers.

Scores were close in the men’s competition as playoffs were required in four of the five flights.

Here’s a rundown of winners in the men’s flights.

Men’s championship flight – 1. Konrad Turcotte (150), Dave Temple (153), Austin Guttinger (154).
Men’s first flight – 1. Lee Hunt (161), 2. Matt Steenson (162, tie), 3. Jesse Gauchier (162, tie).
Men’s second flight – Kevin Thunder (173), 2. Bruce Cunningham (175, tie), 3. Bryce Cunningham (175, tie).
Men’s third flight – 1. J.R. Giroux (183), 2. Rod Marx (191), 3. Michael Thunder (194).
Men’s fourth flight – 1. Paul Chalifoux (219, tie), 2. Rick Guttinger (219, tie), 3. Peter Laderoute (220).

Ladies’ championship flight – 1. Kennedy Turcotte (173), 2. Kassidy Turcotte (173), 3. Judy Hamelin (175).
Ladies’ first flight – 1. Ally Gauchier (190), 2. Dianne Willier (193), 3. Randi Gauchier (196).
Ladies’ second flight – 1. Carol Hanlon (224), 2. Denise Lamouche
