PICs – Students receive bursaries

High Prairie Health Care Auxiliary Society member Diana Oliver, left, presents a $2,000 bursary to Emma Sanders on Dec. 29. She is attending the Toronto College of Dental Hygiene and working toward her registered dental hygienist. She will graduate in July 2018 after completing her 18-month course. Sanders, 25, is following in the steps of many of her family members, who are in the health professional field. Her grandmother, Sophie Boisson, served in the High Prairie Hospital for over 30 years, including assistant administrator, until her retirement. Sanders’ mother, Lorna Boisson, is a Physical Therapist II; her uncle, Michael, is a dentist and one of her cousins is also currently into the field of dentistry.
