Pastor Luc Portelance,
High Prairie Victory Life Church
First of all, I thank God for His great love towards us and, secondly, that He has placed His love in our hearts.
According to Romans 5:5, “The love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.”
That means we have the capacity to love as God loves. The more we walk with Him, the more His love is manifested in our lives.
If we read the characteristics of love in 1 Corinthians 13, it can motivate us in setting boundaries within the relationships in our lives. When we read that love speaks no ill of its neighbours, pays no attention to a suffered wrong, doesn’t repeat scandal, it shows us where we really are in our love walk in Christ.
John 14:21 says, “The person who has My commandments and obeys them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will reveal myself to him.”
When we purpose to walk in the love of God and keep the commandment of love, we keep ourselves in a continual place of revelation from God.
The opposite is also true when we continue to break the law of love, we cut ourselves off from receiving from God.
1 John 3:14 says, “We know that we have crossed over from death to life because we love our fellow Christians.”
The one who does not love remains in death. Let’s all be motivated to walk in the love of God and forgive.
I am reminded we owed a debt we couldn’t pay, Jesus paid a debt he didn’t owe. If we have anything against anyone we are commanded to forgive and as we do we set ourselves free to enjoy sweet fellowship with God and others.
Choose to have this week filled with the love of God.
Next week: Pastor Brian Gilroy.
