A special speaker to motivate business people will be featured at the newly-named Working Together Gala on Oct. 20 as the High Prairie and Area Chamber of Commerce celebrates Small Business Week. Oct. 14-20.
“We will celebrate small business in High Prairie and the surrounding region,” says president Barry Sharkawi.
“We will touch on family-owned businesses, succession planning and how to work with family members.”
Guest speaker for the event will be Christopher Hall, small business consulting specialist and managing partner of Alberta Business Builders.
“It was through my personal journey of failure and success that my passion for helping other business owners was formed,” Hall says on the ABB website.
“I am passionate about helping owners learn from my mistakes and avoid the problems that I had to overcome.”
He leads a team of professionals who share his passion for helping others and are committed to the mission of helping people achieve their dream of owning a successful business.
“We love what we do and believe that it is our life’s mission to help others succeed by using our hard-won experience and success as the platform so that you can achieve your version of success and satisfaction,” Hall says.
“We spend our days working hard for the business people that put their trust in us.”
Often, businesses, dreams and the quality of someone’s life are at stake, he says.
“We feel the weight and the importance of what we do,” Hall says.
“But that responsibility is the very thing that fuels us, and gives such tremendous purpose to our work.”
Last year’s event was held at the Edmo Peyre Hall after two years at the new Triangle Hall.
The chamber awards night was held at the Peavine Inn & Suites last in 2014.
Door open at 5 p.m. before supper is served at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $75 each and available from members of the chamber executive or at the chamber of commerce office in the Town of High Prairie civic building Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
